Tax return ----- Please help.

Hi all,

I got my tier 1 visa on may 2011.

I got my visa by showing my self employment income from April 2010 to March 2011.

Can anyone tell me when is the last date to file my tax return with HMRC for the above year and when is the last date to pay that tax amount.

The income falls into the 2010-11 tax year which goes from 6 April 2010 to 5 April 2011 (assuming that all of the April income was after 6 April).

The deadline for filing a tax return online is 31 January 2012 and that is also the first (or only if you owe under £1,000) payment deadline.

If you are filing via a paper return the deadline is 31 October 2011 with the payment deadline being 31 January 2012.
