Delayed response to postal ILR application for wife and son

Post by helpmyilr » Thu Feb 23, 2012 10:23 am

Hi,

Please could you help me.

I applied for ILR for my wife and son on 1st August 2011 via postal app using SET(M). It got refused in Oct 2011. I then contacted the helpdesk number and discussed the reason and my situation with them. The attendant advised me to send the application along with all the supporting documents and covering letter explaining the situation, to the same address in Liverpool, which I immediately followed and sent everything on 17th Oct 2011.

I then tried to contact the helpdesk couple of times, but was not attended as my application was less than 6 months old.

After the completion of 6 months from my first application on 1st Feb 2012, I tried to check the status again just to know that as my application was refused earlier the helpdesk wont be able to advice anything on the same. The attendant asked me to write to the Liverpool office requesting for the progress updates.

I have sent them a letter more than 2 weeks back, but no response yet.

Just getting worried whats happening with my application as well as all my original documents including passports.

Please could you suggest some way to contact appropriate people at least to get a confirmation that they have my documents with them.

All assistance will be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks.

Not being able to comment on the reason for the original refusal and the subsequent delay, I would suggest that you contact your MP.

Hi Guru,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I would contact the MP, but as an additional route, is there any other phone number / email id to reach UKBA for further info please?

Many Thanks.
