I am British Citizen and wants to sponsor my husband.

Post by Henna.zee » Thu Feb 23, 2012 6:27 pm

Hello There,

Hope all is well, I married with my husband 4 months ago in Pakistan, We have all the documentation e.g Pakistani Marriage Certificate, proof of communications, Pictures together etc.

Can somebody please help me with the questions below:

1. What should I do initially to submit the application? Where to start.
2. What proofs will I have to give to the Govt of UK?
3. How long will the process take, and he can be here with me in UK?
4. He already has a business run in UK from Pakistan, So we dont have any issue with the living and wouldnt require public funds at all. I am currently employed at the moment, and we both can manage our livings together. What else is required?
5. How long will my husband be granted to live in UK initially?
6. How long will it take for my husband to be a British National with me?
7. Can he go back to Pakistan on visits without any restrictions? 1-2 times in a year for 20-30 days?
8. Which application form is applicable for this application? and what is the fee?
9. IMPORTANT QUESTION - Will He be considered as my fiance or spouse during the initial application submission? Because our marriage is registered in Pakistan now only.

Please help me

How long will the process take, and he can be here with me in UK?

From applying to getting a visa i(f it is successful) can take up to 3 months, however if it is refused and you have to appeal, it can take a further 6-8 months.

How long will my husband be granted to live in UK initially?

Spouse visas are valid for 27 month, out of which 24 must be spent in UK for next stage of application

How long will it take for my husband to be a British National with me?

He has to reside here for a total of 3 yrs before he can apply for Citizenship( that is providing you are a British citizen at the time of his application

Can he go back to Pakistan on visits without any restrictions? 1-2 times in a year for 20-30 days?

Yes he can visit for short periods without any restriction

Please advise
