Candidate must be eligible to live and work in the UK

Post by mm0909 » Sun Mar 04, 2012 11:57 am

Hi guys,
I am currently looking for any new opportunities. But some agency websites state above sentence in the job adverts.
What does it means exactly?

Does it means
- anybody with legal immigration status (like myself who is on tier 2 general)
- or someone with permanent or non-restricted status. (EU or UK citizens)

thanks

I think it simply means ..... the person would be a legal employee, if offered the employment.

But of course some people are in the UK legally, but not allowed to work, so the expression would not cover them. Also some people are only allowed to work for one specified employer, so any other employment would not be OK.
