Can you submit your sponsors passport when applying

hello,

I will be with my wife for just over two weeks after she applies for a visa in jordan. In jordan they take a week to reply, so would it be better if I submit my passport with her documents as supporting evidence that we are actually together, etc. if I do,and they take long to get back to us, is there a way for me to get my passport back so I can travel back to london?

You do not submit the sponsors passport with the application. You only send in certified copies of it.

You can submit the original passport if you wish to but most sponsors submit a certified copy as they don't wish to be without their own travel document. Applications can take up to 12 weeks (even if you think yours is going to be straightforward situation and will be emitted sooner) and the process does not easily facilitate the retrieval and replacement of supporting documents.
