Ana ali, i know right. Its very frustrating as to why it is taking so long? When others are getting their BC less than 6months! Unlike us, we are having to wait for a year or more by the look of things!

Does anybody know whether travelling whilst waiting to recieve BC affects getting the BC. And also, is it necessary to notify the HO about going abroad for a 2 months holiday, as we want to go on a holiday.

Sweetness, it shouldn't, however, you may miss a letter while you're away, if they need you to send them more documentation they will only give you 3 weeks to do so.

I attended the Citizenship Ceremony this morning, so I am now a British Citizen.

Thanks to everyone for the support, and the best of luck for those who are still waiting for the approval.

AlexS, my husband called the HO and managed to get through finally!!! He asked them what the progress was with the application and they simply replied "its still processing"!!! Also he asked whether going abroad for 2 months was a problem and replied "it is not a problem, you can go". However, despit talking to the operators, we still sent a letter with the 2 wuestions asked to the operator today.

So lets see what happens now. And ALexS, congrats to u on your BC! ;)

Called them up so many times, but they keep saying its still processing...

Blackhole, sweetness

My heart and prayers goes to you two. I just hope HO should find it prudent in its procedures to deal old applications first as you two really deserve an explanation as to why your applications are taking that long but keep calling and use your MPs. That way HO can retrieve your files and bring them to the top of the queue for a decision to be made.

Good luck to all those still waiting, as its so stressful.

Cheers.

one thing I have learnt in here is that if no major security issue about you then your waiting times come down all to your pure luck, the proof of that two of my friends who applied on the same time and we all have very similar situation, got the approval: one on January, the other ion April while I am still waiting.

it is my 8th month waiting and it does not look like is ending any soon

So I guess apart from writing them a letter or two and ask your MP to get involve NOTHING else we can do but waiting.

It is very frustrating and I will be honest with you if I TELL you now that it will not be the same if I get the approval even tomorrow.

So I guess if u done the above nothing else but Waite,

Sorry

Hay man

Long time :-)

As you may expect no progress in my case yet
I wrote to my MP, and directly to HO:
The replies all are the same, STILL ON PROCESS
Was calling them almost every day, but recently I gave up & fed up
Trying to get my life back and get busy with my own things.

Trying to smile although if I decide to get busy with my business then business is quite
If I decide to enjoy the weather then the weather is sh****t
If I decide to enjoy football on TV then no more football for now :-)

Nice to hear from you

BTW: Do you think that we are the only people who passed 8 months waiting?

Stay well

I am glad to hear you are trying to get your life back. Sometimes HO really does things very slowly. I remember sometimes back when someone posted that he had waited for 12 months before getting a positive feed-back. I know they need to do all the checks but still 8 months is a long time. HO has decided to give the "patience" a whole new meaning but I pray you get your decision soon.

I really do think that they pick some random application to run what they call it EXTERNAL CHECKS which i have no idea what it means?

possibly overseas? possibly checking all your flights in and out in details, maybe,........etc

just a guess though,

any news about your husband's?
Blackhole, we got fed up for a bit and stopped calling HO, because everytime we would call they would say its still in process. Recently, we contacted them and this time they said that a decision has been made on the application and that the result would be on the way within 7 working days. So were waiting for the 7 working days now. I asked her whether she could tell me what the decision was but she said nope.

Hopefully, it shall be a good news after waiting around for nearly 13 months!
Will update you all once retrieved.

Blackhole, we recieved the certificate of approval for BC today from HO. So I guess it is good news for us after all the waiting. Although, I found the waiting to be very frustrating and lengthy and dont think there was any need for it in a straight forward application.

So were going to book for the citizenship ceremony now.
But anyways, I wish you all the best and hope you retrieve good news soon! And thank you!

Oscar22, thank you. And yes we do deserve a celebration but we have held that thought until we can get everything out of the way and recieve british passport. So that we can relax in peace without having to wait any longer regarding this matter.

As for Blackhole, well my heart and prayers are with you. I am sure you will recieve good news, if not now then hopefully soon. I guess the HO are a bit lazy. But one thing i can advise you on is that, keep calling them, once every week if not then every two weeks, so that they know you are waiting and it pushes them to do it.

also this is giving me more hope than ever.

many thanks for your updates and wish you all the best with the rest of the journy

OSCAR22

Thanks a lot for asking and I will update with any news.

one thing I learnt from the time line if you remember is that :

sam london 9 months
camila 12 months
sweetness 13 months

all of the above cases were straightforward cases.

so lets hope that my turn will be similar to sam london as I am approaching my 9th month in 10 days :-)

Blackhole, maybe you will fit within the timeline:

sam london 9 months
Blackhole 10 months?
Blackhole 11 months?
camila 12 months
sweetness 13 months

I'm only joking. Its a total joke by the HO though for such late replies. I am sure you will recieve good news pretty soon.
Good Luck! :D
