10 years Long Residence or Tier 1 Extension

Post by Palmist » Tue Mar 13, 2012 10:43 pm

Hi Guys,
Below is a list of my visa dates

11-09-2002 - 31-10-2005 Student

valid until 31-10-2007 DOI 18-11-2005

valid until 01-11-2008 DOI 12-11-2007

valid until 01-11-2009 DOI 28-10-2008

valid until 03-11-2012 DOI 03-11-2009 TIER 1 GENERAL

DOI = Date of Issue. I have always applied before the expiry of existing stay.

As you can see, I will be eligible for 10 Years Long Residence and also for Tier 1 General Extension. I have checked the points already. I am not sure if I should go down the route of long residence or extension of my curren Tier 1.

Any advice will be most useful. Also do you recommend using a solicitor.
