Income tax refund on payslip

Post by srreddy_5 » Wed Mar 14, 2012 3:12 pm

Hi All,

I used Umbrella Company for 3 months and they deducted more tax. I currently operate through Ltd company. My LTD company pay-slip (generated by accountant) consider '-Y' as Income tax refund and net pay is more than salary taken from business account. For example, basic pay £500, Income tax refund -£25, Netpayment £525. But salary deposited in my account is £500. This is the case with all 8 pay-slips. This was clearly explained by accountant in his letter. I have P45 and Pay-slips from Umbrella Company.

Is there anything else I can do to explain this better to case worker?

Regards,
Ravi

This is very strange that you never noticed this for 8 months. Again, why were you not paid that £25, if that was meant to be the refund?

Refund will be claimed from HMRC at the end of tax year. My accountant is adjusting the excess tax paid by me (during first three months) in latter pay-slips. This is my understanding.

Any one else with similar issue?
