tier2 extension of leave applicatn form sent 2 wrong address

Post by cml614 » Wed Mar 14, 2012 5:59 pm

Can anybody please help me. I have made a huge error in submitting my application form.
I made an online application and payment online as well. After submission online I submitted my supporting documents together with the cover letter. Unfortunately, I got mixed up, sent it thru the postal application which is in durham. It's supposed to be sent to bootle. I sent it last feb. 20th and had been received in durham on the feb 21st.
When I realized my mistake, I contacted UKBA right away but all they advised is just wait because it's either they send it to the correct address or return the documents to me but until now (14th mar), still no answer.

Please help me! I'm really desperate now coz my visa will expire on apr 1st.

The date of your application is considered to be the date when you submitted the online application. As long as that date was before your current leave expired or expires you are OK, you will not be an over-stayer.

The supporting docs have to be submitted within 15 working days (i.e. 3 weeks) of the submission of the online appplication. I expect you sent the docs within this 15 day window albeit to the wrong address.

Suggest you write a letter immediately to Bootle, copy to Durham, and explain the situation, stating that this was a genuine mistake on your part. I doubt very much that there will be any adverse consequences apart from a delay in processing your application.

hi manci,

Thank you for replying. It is such a big help that you have suggested that I write to bootle and durham offices. I do hope that they will accommodate my letter explaining my mistake.

Thank you again!

Hi cml614,

I too did the same mistake. I have sent a letter to them explaining that I had wrongly sent the documents to Durham office. Did you get any reply from them for your letter. Where there any complexities? Please advice.

Regards,
Amar
