Child born abroad...

Post by kamalin10 » Sun Mar 18, 2012 10:00 am

Hi
Not really sure where to post it but need urgent help please!

My friends are here on Tier 1 visa (husband’s the main applicant and wife is dependant, nationality - Azerbajan).

Wife was 7 months pregnant when they travelled on Friday this week to Paris, France, where she had an emergency c-section for medical reasons. They only hold schengen visitors visa, and do not have settled status here, in the UK (a year or two away from ILR).

Question is – how do they bring baby back? He is in the intensive care unit for minimum 2 weeks now. is there an exception to visas and borders crossing in this sort of situation?

Any advice is much appreciated
Thanks!

approach their embassy in Paris first to get the child a passport and then apply for a dependant visa

Well..easier said than done...it takes many documents and very long time to do all that, not to mention that taking a photo of a baby who breath through the tube and in intensive care unit is not going to be easy...

There must be a provision for such exceptional circumstances...maybe transfer of the baby by medical services? :(

I expect the 2 embassies will move things quickly to help so approach them early and ask for help
