Sucessful biometric resident card claim beneifts?

Hi my wife has been granted ilr and letter states her Bimetric residence card will arrive in 7 days.. can she claim benefits now? as her previous visa she was not allowed?

she needs to wait for her BRP otherwise she is not going to be able to prove her entitlement to claim benefits. what benefits is she hoping to claim?
