acknowledgment letter but no fee taken

Post by stejon81 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 9:13 am

I applied for my Tier 1 General extension on 10 February and received an acknowledgment letter a few days later. Since then I have yet to receive the biometric letter nor has my credit card been charged the application fee.

Anyone experience this before?

it very strange, normally when applicant fees process don't go through or declined,UKBA return the application to the sender.as it had happen with me in 2008 when I applied for Tier1 General first time and my fees was declined by the BANK due to security reasons.UKBA returned my application. I sent again and informed my bank about the amount that shall be debited my account from home office.
I think you must ring ukba about this matter .

You seems to be the few lucky ones who get free ride....;)

I applied for my wife in 2009. Never received any acknolwedgement letter but got passport with visa on after 6-8 weeks. Heard many stories where payment never gone through.

You are safe as you got acknowledgement. Simply wait and see.

I spoke to UKBA yesterday. They told me that, as mentioned in other posts by other users, that because of the change in fees in April they are currently inundated with applications and that the phone operators received a memo to explain the back up (apparently getting a memo like this is nearly unprecedented). The person on the phone did not think that not having been charged yet was an issue and that if i dont hear something after another two weeks or so then it might be but for now, i shouldnt worry.

id say this was slightly reassuring but not as reassuring as getting my visa and passport back would be!
