We noticed that if you try to only book in one of the applicants ... like only the Main or only the dependent ... then this error comes up

If you book all the applicants in -like choose 2 dependents (or whtever right number of dependents u have) n then try n book a slot - No Error comes up

Give it a Go.

1. I applied with 1 main + 2 dependents
2. In my case biometric is done for wife and son but not for me..
3. Now if I try to book online Biomteirc for 1 applicant only, I get that error "We do not have a record for the case ID..."
4. If I try to book for all 3 I do not get the error BUT this way I dont see any latest slots, you only see slots far ahead in the future..

So I have booked the one end of april (even though I know there are slots next week for single applicants..) the whole online booking is not working properly..

I recieved email from UKBA ... they explain teh problem - but NO SOLUTION - do not know what to do now

Thank you for your enquiry.

The UK Border Agency is aware of an error with a small number of barcodes on enrolments letters and is working to resolve this problem as a matter of urgency. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

Once your barcode has failed to scan at a Post Office you can not enrol your biometrics at a Post Office. Unfortunately when a Barcode fails, it will fail consistently even when a new letter is issued

We are currently looking into how this issue can be resolved and will be in touch with you shortly with the way forward. As the main applicant has been able to enrol at the Post Office, the dependants are unable to book an appointment using the on-line service and this is why you are receiving the message when trying to book an appointment.

Thank you

What kind of reply is that ???????????????
So what if they take 6 months to resolve this issue..
In my opinion, you should write a letter to your caseworker at UKBA and keep them informed of the issue that you are not able to book the appointment..

I am planning to do that as well.

Try to book an appointment using you + dependents using main applicant's case id).. see if that works.

Its very unfortunate that they have left it to applicants to figure out the methods to book appointments by trail and error rather than giving a clear defined process..

Probably they want people to spend extra money and do PEO applications.. $$ krrrrrrchingggg

How do I find who my caseworker is please?

And when we go to PEO - do they charge as well? I did not know that.

No they do not charge for biometric at PEO.. i meant doing the full application at PEO..

Hearing such experiences.. I am sure some people will think of applying directly at PEO by paying extra money than waiting for 3months to get extension...

I do not know my case worker but I was planning to send letter to UKBA general contact address and ask them to direct it to my case worker based on my HO reference number saying that because of system issue I cannot do my biometric and not because I do not want to...

Just so that caseworker does not refuse/reject my application as invalid... You never know...

Apply online service in the UK will be unavailable on 29 March 2012

29 March 2012
Our 'Apply online' service for applicants in the UK will be unavailable between 19:00 on Thursday 29 March and 05:50 on Friday 30 March 2012 while we carry out essential maintenance.

During this time, applicants in the UK will not be able to submit applications, book appointments or pay for their applications online, or use our 'application form finder' tool.

'Apply online' in the UK is the only service that will be affected. Applicants outside the UK will still be able to apply online using our Visa4UK service.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you

Futher Response...
-----------------------
Thank you for your email.

We are aware your wife is unable to provide her biometrics at the moment because the barcode on her biometric letter is faulty.

We are hoping to resolve this issue shortly and we will be writing to you next week with a solution. Please be assured your application will not be affected and your records have been noted that the 15 day time limit will be exceeded due to these problems.

We apologise for any inconvenience this delay may cause.

Kind regards

My wife also submitted her BM at Croydon yesterday ... only diff being we reached there at 12:30 for 1 o Clock appntmnt and came out at 4:30 ... yes 4 hours waiting just for BM and that too which was coz of their system problem.

To eb fair to them ... at 3:15 their Fire alarm went off and we were to evacuate the bldng for about 30-40 minutes.
