visa category for Denmark visa.. urgent help please.

Post by doctorwhofornow » Thu Mar 29, 2012 4:15 pm

Hi

I am a non-EU national living in the UK. I have to visit Denmark for a job interview of Scientist. I was looking for a Visa category to visit Denmark for 2 days for the purpose of meeting and interview with this company.(They are providing all the expenses to cover my trip).

The embassy suggested that I apply for a Short-stay BUSINESS visa. However when I search for information on demark websites, thet say that a business visa can only be issued if "there is an actual commercial relationship between your own company/organisation and the company/organisation in Denmark which you wish to visit."

So does that mean I cannot apply for a short stay business visa for the purpose of job interview with this company?

I would really appreciate your help in this

Kind regards

Hi doctorwhofornow,

love the nic - I thought "the doctor" usually travels by TARDIS, w/o visa? ;)

For your real question: (Just my opinion, not my area of expertise)
What they try to avoid throught the "actual commercial relationship"clause is that someone is invited by a company, although it´s really a private matter. For example someone inviting his cousin for "business", although it´s actually a private matter.

An interview is obviously really a business matter, so I think there´s nothing to worry about.

Rgds,
Christian

lol.. wish I could travel in TARDIS. But I see the point in your response. But as always when it comes to visas and immigrations nothing can be taken for granted :( Thanks for the reply, lets see what others have to say about this.
