Wrong box ticked for fees on Dependant's Application Form

Post by KDP » Mon Apr 02, 2012 2:12 pm

Hello Guys,

I know this seems bit stupid and dumb, but I didn't quite proof read my wife's and son's application form before submitting their application together with mine.

I have submitted their application with my own application on 24/03/12, I just realised that I have ticked the wrong box for the payment, i.e, £550 which is for the application for the separate application as a dependant. I have checked my account and they have not deducted any of the payment yet. My query is can they reject my application as an invalid application due to this mistake. What can I do to rectify this mistake.

I have spoke to r*****h home office team and asked them to give me the contact number for Durham, Tier 1 general office which deals with the Tier 1 General applications, but they told me that the applications first goes to the payment department and all I have to do is to wait until they contact me and hence they can not give me any contact details for them as they are not allowed to.

Can anyone please assist me on the above topic and make any suggestions except for waiting to be contacted from Home office?

Can anyone give me the number for Durham, Tier1 General Office, if they have?

I don't think they will reject it, instead they will process with the right payment. Just a guess

But as per the policy, it you not ticked the correct payment fees for the relevant services they the application will be in valid.

I have spoken to one of the very reputed consultant on this and they have asked me to wait for one more week and if still the payment has not been done from my account then, i should withdraw my application as it takes 5 to 6 week for home office to make their decisions, and 20 working days for sending the documentation back if I withdraw it. So, I will wait till next week and then will see if the payment has been made then will carry on with my application. As I am quite confident that rest of the application is complete except for this payment mistake.

Anyways thanks for your reply and attention to my query, if you find any more information on this topic please do let me know.

Regards,

KDP

You can hope they take the right amount or the wrong amount from your account so that the application processing starts.

The only issue might be if UKBA considers the application incorrect because of incorrect payment amount. In case they think the application is invalid, you might get the documents back as the application will be rejected. I would say, do as you've planned. Wait for some time and then try calling UKBA again.

I would actually not suggest withdrawal just because there might be a scenario where UKBA deducts right / wrong payment and you call in to withdraw. In that case you'll end up paying the fee twice. The best bet would be to wait and watch what UKBA does with your application.
