Thank you all,

i have submitted my visa today and just after applying I noticed that the start and end date of my CoS is : 01/03/24 -> 01/03/27. When paying for the fees i paid for the 3 years or less. Am I safe? I found some ppl saying that my CoS duration counts as 3 years and one day

Thank you for your reply, but can anyone of the Gurus confirm that? I found that it causes visa refusals in different forum posts:
- uk-skilled-worker-visas/urgent-help-tie ... 96256.html
- uk-skilled-worker-visas/urgent-help-nee ... 66557.html
- uk-skilled-worker-visas/tier-2-visa-rej ... s#p1047297

Wouldn't it be safer to add a sponsor note to shift the start date for example by one day? Is it still possible to add a sponsor note after applying but haven't supplied biometrics yet?

Sorry If suspect the answer above, but it's an extremely personal matter. Thanks in advance.

URGENT - 3 years CoS dates and IHS surcharge fees

Post by no_hope2 » Sat Jan 13, 2024 8:04 am

!!! PLEASE I NEED URGENT HELP !!!

I am opening a new thread because this is an urgent matter.

I have applied for SWV with 3 years CoS. The start date is: 01/03/2024 and the end date is 01/03/2027. Reading multiple posts here and in other forums, the CoS duration counts as 3 years and one day. Since I have paid for the IHS fees for the "3 years or less", my visa is prone to refusal. Please, has anyone with 3 years of CoS before had the same issue?

To be on the safe side and to gain time, will it be still possible to add a sponsor note after applying and paying the visa fees but not yet submitting biometrics?

I have biometrics on Monday,

Thank you so much in advance for your consideration.

The shortfall in the IHS does NOT lead to refusal. UKVI will ask for any shortfall to be paid and covered if this comes up :!:
Also, note that the grant of visa could be longer than 3 years as per the guide:
Permission to stay should be granted with effect from the date of decision.
In both circumstances, the end date of permission must be 14 days after the end date stated on the applicant’s CoS (but see the exception for some doctors below). The end date on their CoS can be up to a maximum of 5 years after the start date on their CoS. (This means the maximum possible permission that can be granted at a time is up to 3 months before the CoS start date + 5 years’ length of CoS + 14 days after the CoS end date.)

Good morning everyone,

I have received today, Sunday, a decision from the home office about my visa application from the email: "NoReply.UKVisaBRP@fcdos.gov.uk" with a decision letter, is this a genuine email or not?

You will be able if it is genuine by checking the reference details from your application.
I would not expect there to be a “s” at the end of FCDO…

It contains my ref number, I have seen some other people in here received an email from the same address. So I think it should be okay.
