Visa into Ireland for non EU girlfriend

Maybe this question has been asked many times but i'm looking at taking my non EU girlfriend to Ireland for a visit, getting a bit bogged down by all the different types of visas and stamps etc etc. I am an Irish citizen and would be supporting her while she's here, she's from a 3rd world country and is not very well off. Can anyone with similar experience give some advice on what would be the best way of going about it, would be much appreciated, might seek legal advice on it also, thanks in advance.
