UK Visa in old passport, applying for Schengen

Post by fassadlr » Fri Apr 18, 2008 1:14 pm

Hi, I'm traveling to Spain in June and am going for my Schengen Visa on Monday (21st June). I've read on a few places that your UK residence permit (which I have) must be in the same passport as which you are aplpying for. However, my South african passport expired last year afterwhich I got a new one. Will this still be OK? I can't see why not?

I've got 2 South African passports: The expired/cancelled one contains my UK residence permit and the new one will be used to apply for the schengen.

Please help as I'm stressing this will be an issue?

Should I just take both passports with on the day?

THANKS in advance for any help!

Yes.

It's not obligatory, but you can have the permit moved to the new passport, the Home Office charges for this though (surprise surprise).
