G1 visa queries

Post by Limerickforever » Sun Sep 08, 2024 12:11 pm

Good morning everyone,

I’m posting to ask a few questions about this g1 and would be very grateful for your help please.

I just finished my masters in Ireland .
I have decided that I would like to stay in Ireland.
I am also in a relationship with someone who is Irish.

I will be getting my G1 shortly.

However I wanted to ask more about this please.

I will keep a logbook of all my attempts to get a job with sponsorship. However so far I just keep getting rejections.
If I have a lot of evidence of my attempts and interview attendances is it likely I will get it continued for another 12 months.

I feel a lot of stress recently because I want to stay in Ireland with my partner. If in two years nobody will sponsor me then what will my options be. I would really appreciate help from anyone who can advise me.

If in two years nobody will sponsor me will I have to leave Ireland and my partner. Would I be asked to leave.
Thank you for reading , it’s a very stressful situation for me.

Likely, but of course, not certain.

Then you need to find another reason to stay in Ireland, be it by marriage/cohabitation with your Irish partner, studying a PhD or another reason that is covered by immigration rules.

If you're married to your partner, you can apply for a spouse visa (assuming your partner earns enough/fits all other criteria) even now.

Assuming you're living together with your Irish partner for 2+ years at that point (or you're married), you can apply for a spouse/de facto partner visa.
Keep in mind you need to get permission from ISD to marry.

Alternatively, you can move abroad with your spouse/partner, to another EU country, and use EU rules.
