Visa start date is ignored

Hi,
I applied for Tier1(General)visa on 8th Dec'10 and got the visa on 5th Jan'11. Infact in the application i mentioned the travel date as 21st Feb'10, but i got the visa start date as 5th Jan'11.
As per the guidelines we are request for visa start date within 3 months from the date of application.
I wanted to change i visa start date. Is it possible to change now? If yes who i need to contact?
