Visa Transfer to New Passport

Post by kandasamy » Thu May 26, 2011 2:54 pm

Hi All,

My son passport is getting expire by end of this Year i.e 27-12-2011. He has valid Tier 1 dependant visa up to 30-04-2012 I am planning to apply for new passport for my son by Nov 2011.
I am having the following doubts
What will happen to my son existing dependant Visa.
Whether the Visa will transfer to New passport without submitting any application
Do I need to submit the New dependant application form for my son.
In case I need to submit the new application , can I submit the new application in UK

Please clarify above point.

Regards
Kanadsamy

if you make new application with a valid visa on old passport the home office will stamp the new visa on your new passport if you are successful in your application

Nothing. It will remain valid as it currently is, until the expiry date given on the visa.

If you wish to transfer the visa on to a new passport then you need to apply for TOC.

No.

TOC can only be applied for in the UK.

Simple answer - Travel with both passports (expired/cancelled passport with visa + new passport).
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
