B2 visa with less than 6 months UK Tier1

Hello there,

I am planning to travel to the states during Christmas time for shopping and my UK Tier 1 visa expires in Jan 2010 (on my Chinese passport).

Does anyone know whether it is going to be a problem for me to get a US B2 visa, as rumors say I will need a valid UK visa for over 6 months?
