Visit visa marriage

Post by nmse77 » Mon Apr 22, 2024 11:57 am

Hi,
I want to invite and sponsor 2 people from pakistan for my sons wedding this coming summer.
I will be responsible for all costs during their stay here. Max stay will be one month.

Is it recommended to go through a solicitor for this application or will be ok to apply myself?

Thank you in advance.

I have a couple of questions:

1. I do not own any property however i have the permission of the owner of the property where accommodation is to be provided. I also reside in the same house. Will this be ok?
2. I only work part-time however i have savings in excess of 20K. Will this be sufficient?

It is not really about your ability to sponsor the individuals. It is about their circumstances and how the Home Office views their ties to their home country.

You can apply by yourself.
What are their financial circumstances and socio-economic ties to home country?
Any previous travel history for the applicants?

applicant 1 is a housewife (financially dependent on husband ) and has family to return to including children under the age 16.
applicant 2 is my niece and daughter of applicant 1. She does have some income from employment.
No previous travel history.
Any key preparation to be done prior to the application?

I am about to create an application and would like to know if additional documents need to be provided were applicants are financially dependent on father/husband however some savings are available.
As the wedding is at the end of june and there is not much time left will it still be ok to mention this as part of the application. Ideally we hope they can make it in time for the wedding however they would still like to visit if it is missed.

The father should write a cover letter and mention that he would be sponsoring the trip for the whole family. That's nothing unusual.

Since the father is carrying the weight of the whole family, I'm hoping that he's financially robust enough. If dad's application fails, it mostly likely would affect the whole family.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Sorry what i meant was they are financially dependant on the father/husband when staying in pakistan. For this trip i will be covering all expenses. The dad will not be travelling.
Also for the following what can we provide:
  • Evidence of the relationship, if any, between you and your sponsor
our surnames do not match however in old names they do which i have put on the application, will that be sufficient?

If you don't mind me asking, who are they to you?

The ECO would be thinking why you want to spend so much money on someone that might not be directly related to you.

2nd cousins are going to be hard to evidence.

How much do you have liquid?
What's the father bringing to the table?
Why must they be at the wedding?
How long would they be around for?
Is spending all that money for such a short period worth it?

I prolly have a million questions in my head.

my sister and her daughter. duration of stay 6 weeks.
i have 15K in my account currently.
As it's their nephew wedding they would like to attend it.

I'm not quite sure what you find so unusual about this application.

To put it mildly, what I find unusual is the cultural factor. Example: What is tenable in Paraguay might not be acceptable in Saudi Arabia.
A lot of people wouldn't spend that much money on extended families. That's what the ECO might see it as.
They don't even spend that much on their own immediate families. If there's something about it that doesn't look right, then they go ahead and deny buttressing it with other extra reasons. There are loads of them.

Analogy: If a policeman follows a car long enough, they'll find a reason to pull you over.

I'm sure you watch the news and you can see that they are constantly trying to cut down migration by all means.

You need to prove that they are not intended immigrants.

I hope that satisfies your question.
