uK visit visa protocols

Hi Every one! myself along with my 2 children ages 9 and 11 ,are British citizens living in Pakistan but my wife is Pakistani citizen. I am planning to visit UK for a month and come back to Pakistan along with my family in the June 20015 and need to apply for a short visit visa to UK for my wife.

Need help/advice on the following points:

1. What type of visa to apply for my wife for a short visit to UK? (It would her first effort applying for UK visa)

2. What documents are required to be submitted?

3. Time frame involved for the process to be completed?

Any help or sharing of experience would be highly appreciated. Thx
