UK Visit Visa

Post by Jonjames » Mon Sep 09, 2019 6:39 am

My wife is a Moroccan citizen, we have been married for 1 year and live in the UAE together. I want to get her a visit visa so we can go to the UK at Christmas to see family. I know the biggest issue for UK visit visa is reason to return, she is unemployed and owns no property, her name is mentioned on our tenancy agreement as a co-occupier of the apartment but that's about it.

Can anyone offer any advise what I can use as evidence of reason for return? Does she have any chance in this situation?

Also regarding evidence of funds for the trip, I tend to use a credit card for all my spending then pay it off at the end of the month with my salary, so don't usually keep a significant amount in my bank, will they accept credit cards as evidence of funds?

Thanks

As proof of funds, you can use the revenue from your work by showing your payslips (or equivalent in UAE) and the pages from your account showing the salary coming in. Is it a joint account showing your wife's name in the statements?

Obviously, she has no attachments to UAE. They may think that your contract in UAE is over and you are coming back to the UK permanently with her on visitor visa. You can add a letter from your employer or a contract showing that you are back in the UAE.

You have just to make it credible then apply. When someone doesn't work and has no attachments, the refusal rate is higher. But it's not an absolute no. It just carries a higher risk of getting a refusal.
