Visitor Advice Needed

Post by Dee2015 » Tue Sep 29, 2015 5:43 am

Hi my mother in law is retired but is fully secure financially. She has a 4 bed semi detached and has savings and regular pension income every month. She wants to invite her sister form India to stay with her for few months while she has a knee op done. Can she sponsor her sisters visa application. Or does it have to employed people only who can sponsor. She has no mortgage commitments and can prove all the documentation for her property and savings and bank statements. Please advice. Thank you in advance.

See also Visitor Guidance.

I believe that anyone may sponsor visitors. However, the deciding factor may be in showing that her sister intends to return home after her visit.

Ok makes sense. Her sister will show her commitments back home so hopefully that shouldn't cause much issues. I just was concerned that she might have problem as she is retired but I guess if she financially stable then she can take care of her sister in UK with no help from the state.
