Visitor to Student

Hi,

One of my friends has visitor visa for UK and visiting UK since last few years and still his visa is valid for next 2 years.

He wants to apply for student visa from Pakistan, my question is, if his student visa application will be refused, will it affect on his visitor visa as well? or will he be able to visit UK without any problem?
