Visitor visa for husband?

Post by safarigirl » Mon Aug 20, 2007 11:24 am

Hi everybody,

I got brilliant advice from lots of you when my husband was refused a fiance visa in April 2006 when it came to light that he had a false immigration stamp in his passport. I won't re-tell the story here as I have a new query and the old story is in a previous thread.

Since then - we married in July 2006 in Nigeria and I moved here in November 2006 and have a good job and am on a 3 year contract. He has started his own business which is building up gradually. I get a regular salary and he has plenty of money although not income from his business yet. We are intending to live here for at least 2 years before considering moving (not necessarily back to the UK).

I would like some advise on future visa applications for the UK for him. Do you think he would now stand a reasonable chance of being granted a visitor visa? We are not ready to consider settling in the Uk but when we decide to have children I am intending to give birth in the UK and I also would like to be able to visit my home country with him in the future.

It was a very stressful experience for my husband last time and despite the mistake he had made for which there were some extenuating circumstances, he was treated in a way I can only describe as cruel and despicable by the ECO at the BHC. I do not want him to go through that again unless we have a fairly good chance of success.

Thank you in advance for any opinions anybody may have on this subject.
