My new Moldovan wife is now trying to get a visitor visa to see where I presently live in the UK. We are still unsure if she should live here in the UK or I should live in Moldova, so this is purely an exploratory visit that she wants to make for 2 weeks in the UK. She comes in on a UK visitor visa.
First, the system to get one is a lot more complext than it was. Before, you went to the Moldovan UK Embassy and all the paperwork was handled there. Now, there is a private company, Teleperformance, that you hand in your form and supporting documents to in Moldova. They are only open one morning a week and the staff do not speak Russian, a language commonly used in Moldova.
At any rate, I am attempting to find out what supporting documents, as my wife, she needs to give them. The papers are sent to Warsaw, Poland, to process. For example, she was thinking of showing them as a supporting document for the visiting visa a copy of her Moldovan bank account. However, I very recently topped up this with some of my own money. Once the UK officials see this, they might query it. Have you any advice on what she should say?
We own an apartment in Moldova, which may also hopefully let the UK government give her this visitor visa (ie suggest that she will not overstay the visitor visa). What other tips can posters suggest to improve her chances of getting one please?
