Hello everyone
I would really appreciate some guidance regarding visitor visa query. My husband and I are in the process of submitting a visitor visa for his Aunty for 6 months. We would like her to visit us in the UK to spend some time with our children since she has never met our kids. PLus to assist us with children for a short time while I settle in backto work post maternity leave.
My husband and I will be sponsoring her to visit us since she has no money and she will be living with us during her visitor.
Background: I am eu citizen(cyprus) with settled status and my husband is from Congo DRC has pre-settled status and has recently applied for settled status but the decision is pending. We are both in a full time jobs and has good income including savings. However, I am currently on maternity leave due to return to work in June 2025. His Aunty is early 69 years but fit and strong. She does not work and lives with family members who support her. She stays at home looking after jher grandchildren. My husband ocassionally sends her some money.
Questions:
1. Can the application be made here in the uk online or does it have to be made in Congo DRC where his Aunty resides?
2. Can we both sponsor her despite he is waiting for a decidion for settled status?
3. What docment do we need to provide to support the application?
Thanking in advance

1. The application can be made in the UK.
2. Yes
3. Anything that proves finances and ties to the home country of the applicant. There are some posts in this sub-forum of successful cases when the applicant is unemployed, retired, low income/dependant on others, etc.
It's not a good idea to mention child care (or help with children) as the reason of the visit.

Thank you so much for the response. I really appreciate it. I have noted your advice.
With regard to response to number 3, not sure what to provide as fiances and ties to the home country since she is unemployed amd is dependent to family members hence why we want to sponsor her.
Would you please point me to the direction of sub-forum posts regarding unemploed and dependent applicant?

I am in the proces of applying for visitor visa for my husband's Aunty to visit us for short stay. I am EU citizen with EU settled status and will fully sponsor her since she is unemplyed and in her 60s. I have a permanent job and good savings.
Am I required to provide evidence of relationship?
How do I prove she will returning to her home country? She is unemployed, has no bank account and lives with family members

Nope, just simply describe relationship in the cover letter.

That's where it gets tricky. You might need one of her kids to co-sponsor and also write a letter to that effect.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Tank you fro your response, i really appreciate it. What could be an example of co-sponsor? What would the co-sponsor demonstrate as a strong tie? She is needed in her home country because she looks after her grandchildren.
