Visitor Visa Question

Post by pak2005uk » Wed Dec 24, 2014 7:39 pm

Hi

I would like to sponsor my friend to visit the UK for a period of 2 months. I as the sponsor am currently claiming child/working tax credits as I have children. I have been advised that as a potential sponsor as I am claiming tax credits I am reliant on public funds therefore my friends visa is likely to get refused because of me reliant on public funds.

Please can someone tell me if a visa sponsor can claim tax credits or is it better to stop my application. I have read under the immigration rules that both Child and Working Tax Credits come under public funds.

I look forward to your answers.

Thanks
