Vocational Qualifications/professional qualifications?

Post by virgoguy » Wed Oct 24, 2007 11:54 am

Dear Group,

Would like to know the exact meaning of the term Vocational Qualification/professional Qualification.

I have recently completed the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) course. This certificate has been sponsored by itSMF (Information Technology Service Management Forum) which is a UK body.

I called up NARIC to check about this, and they said they cannot evaluate courses which are sponsored by UK bodies.

According to the HSMP guidance, any professional qualification has to be presented with evidance that this equates to a british qualification.

The questions that I have is

1) Can ITIL be considered as a professional qualification?
2) What body in the UK can endorse my qualification

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated

Thanks!

ACCA and CIMA are accredited and are given points by the Home Office, and NARIC will confirm this.

There are very few other courses which do, and I doubt yours does. But you can call the Home Office and check.
