Waiting for Ilr decision, passport expiring

Hi All,
Please can someone confirm if I can reuse B1 certificate issued by Trinity for ILR application under SET(M) 5 year spouse route if I have already used it 2.5 years ago for FLR(M) when I was extending my spouse visa.
I started filling the application and got confused by this wording.. Why does it refer to Indefinite leave application after October 2013?
Please see the wording in Italic below.
Did you meet the knowledge of English requirement as part of an indefinite leave application made on or after 28 October 2013? (Required)
Applicants who applied for, and obtained, settlement on or after the 28th October 2013 using an English language qualification at level B1 or above can use this as evidence of their knowledge of English language. However if this qualification was not used and accepted for their settlement application, it cannot be used for this application.

Some recognised test qualifications only last for 2 years. You can still use a B1 level qualification that you took more than 2 years ago in 2 situations.

Applying to settle in the UK
You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter

Thank you. That was my understanding. I was confused by the wording on the application form that refers to an application to Indefinite leave to remain..
However if this qualification was not used and accepted for their settlement application, it cannot be used for this application
What does it mean?

Just answer NO to the above question in your first post. And then the form will ask how you fulfil the requirement now. Since your test is 2.5year old, just make sure its valid as refer to the previous post.

All you have to check is that its still on the current list of recognised tests as its more than 2 years old. You have already used it for a previous immigration application so you just need to check point 1.

I've submitted my biometric for ILR earlier this months and waiting for the decision. My passport is due to expire in March 2021.
If I renew it before ILR decision do I have to contact home office at all? Does it have any impact?

The form asks for your current passport details. In the above stated case, you will have to update HO. It will have no adverse impact though.
