Waiting...

My student visa (extension ) in-country appeal was allowed about a month ago. I am waiting for HO to contact me ( asking for my passport).

1. Could someone who has been in my position advise me how long should I wait before I chase the matter? If so, how do I chase the matter?
2. Does HO always gives a minimum extension of a year ?
3. Someone advised me that it is better to wait for them to contact me . Doing so, HO might give me more extension. Is that so?
4. Does the determination forwarded by POU to HO Implementation Unit mention the duration of visa extension or is it upto HO Implementation Unit to assess it? My determination does not give a specific date but says ‘extension not beyond 2008’. Does that mean HO will extend visa until end of 2008?
