Want to add surname on BRP and passport

Hi Group,

Me and my wife are in UK under indefinite leave to remain.
My wife has only one legal name which creates problem everywhere since surname is mandatory in IT systems today .

I understand changing name on passport will be easy.

How do i add surname on her BRP and inform UKBA about this.

This is not replacement as replacement is for following cases
within 3 months if it was lost, stolen or damaged while you were in the UK
within 1 month if you’re returning to the UK on a ‘replacement BRP visa’
My case BRP will involve change of name

If i am not wrong i will have to apply for transfer of visa to new passport.

But meanwhile passport name is now <firstname lastname> but brp is only firstname.
Will it create problem to go to India in this state where current passport has firstname + lastname but brp has just firstname
