Want to move to UK with my spouse

Post by DesertRose » Mon Jun 15, 2009 5:57 pm

Hi

I hope somebody will be able to help me.

I am a EU national (not British) marrying a non EU national. We are currently living in New York and have been for past 6 years but would like to move to UK.

We are not married yet and never been to UK before.

I undestand that me as EU national will enter UK with no problems and will excercise my treaty right (look for work and hopefully find emlpoyment, or be self-sufficient person).

Then my husband could join me in the UK based on EEA FP?

My questions are:

Should we get married in New York and then apply for EEA FP and enter UK together?

Or I should go to UK first and get employment and then apply for EEAFP based on that while he is still in the US?

Or we should get tourist visa for him to enter UK and then get married once in UK?

Our priority is that we both can live and work freely in UK.
