3 week hotel accommodation for dependants

Post by mhkhan » Thu Mar 18, 2010 12:09 am

Dear All,

If I book a double room ( meant for couple with kids) for my wife and kids in a hotel for 3 weeks, is that acceptable as proof of accommodation for their Tier 1 dependants application? Am already in UK.

Many thanks,

If you are already in the Uk it is better to show evidence of proper accomodation, there is no rules on what kind of accomodation it should be, so theoritically it should be ok.

If I am missing something, i always found proper accomodation to be less expensive than accomodating in hotel unless you are celebrity who likes living in hotel :)

If I were a celebrity, I wouldn't have been required to apply for Tier 1 :).
Due to the nature of my job, I am not sure which part of the UK will I be in by the time family moves here so I don't want to take on a flat in London with 6 months commitment. I am even thinking of not showing accommodation at all because I have not read anywhere on the application or the guidelines that proof of accommodation is mandatory.

Unless you are also convinced that accommodation has to be shown?

Thanks once again.
Thanks,

1. Book an accomodation in the hotel and get the email confirmation from the hotel with your dependents name..

2. Apply for Visa and once Visa is approved..

3. Cancel the hotel accomodation...

4. By the time you plan to shift your family to UK get a proper flat/rent n move in..
