What SOC code?

Hi
I am on PSW as want to transfer to Tier 2 sponsor visa. I have been with my employer for 2 years and they are going to issue me with a COS next month. I am currently earning just above 20K and working as Retail Sales Manager. I am wondering what SOC code applies to me.
I am thinking or hoping its 1239 (managers in other services not else where described) the standard salary for this code is £10.55 which I meet. Is it best for me to call UKBA and ask..

They wont really help you with this I think. Maybe call up a few immigration consultants and ask them about it? Alternatively, look into all the COP Codes and narrow your list down to three that match closely with your job description and then pick one..

I have contacted my head office and they are a bit confused as my job title is retail sales manager and I earn 21k. the only management code which fulfills my salary criteria is 1239 but it does not mention Retail manager, instead it says management roles not mentioned above and in next column it mention betting shop managers, proprietors etc. how can I convince my employer. plus does UKBA raise an issue if job title and code are not closely matched.
