What's the minimum work experience required?

Post by BlueSkyLady » Thu Feb 22, 2007 6:41 am

I called an immigration lawyer's office in my city to see if I qualify to apply for a skilled immigration visa to Australia.

After asking some quick questions, they told me I needed to have 6 years of work experience and I couldn't apply because I had only 4 years of experience.

I was like "What are you talking about?? I thought it was only 1 year required. :("

So before I panic, I decided to come here and ask you guys. Is this really true that you MUST have 6 years of work experience to apply to for a skilled immigration visa??

(I have an associate degree in Information Technology, 1 year of full-time and 3 years of part-time work experience in software programming - which is on the MODL list. )

Thank you.
