When to apply for HSMP extension considering FLR??

Post by ashishashah » Tue Oct 23, 2007 7:44 pm

Hi,

I am on HSMP , which expires in Oct 2008..I was under the impression that once i extend my HSMP in OCt 2008 , thats done..

But now i realise that
1) I need to apply for HSMP , get an approval letter from them
2) Apply for FLR (before OCt 2008 ) and get my Passport stamped..

So can i apply for HSMP extension in say MAy 2008 and then apply for FLR in Oct 2008??

First of all,am i correct in saying that "HSMP extension" and "FLR" are seperate processes??

Thanks
Ashish

If you are already on HSMP, the extension is not a two step process (HSMP + FLR), it is one step (FLR) only. But to get the FLR for HSMP extension, you need to show all the same evidence as though you were applying for HSMP (earnings, education, etc). You send your passport with the FLR application, plus all your other documents.
