when to apply for Skilled worker extension

Anyone know the earliest I can apply for skilled worker visa extension? The guidance does not give a timeframe just states 'You must apply online before your current visa expires'.

For reference my visa expires on 12/9/23. My extension COS has already been issued on 14 June 2023 and expires 15 September 2023.

Many immigration lawyers websites state you can not apply until 60 days before, perhaps this info is outdated?

Any help very much appreciated.

There shouldn't be a rush to apply especially since you have new COS already. SWV requires 5years to ILR, apply at a time before expiration of current leave that new leave when issued will be able to carry you to be eligible for ILR.

Thank you for your response. I guess more my question is what is the earlies date I can apply? I know the latest is when my visa expires?
