When to apply

Post by Jhulley » Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:11 pm

Does anyone know if you can complete the online application for an unmarried partner visa before the "2 years living together" date so that the appointment to drop off supporting documents, get biometrics done etc is on the 2 year date? (IE - apply at the beginning of February so that an appointment can be made for the 22nd - at which point 2 years will have passed.)

Im trying to get it as close as possible so that we don't apply on the two year date then have to wait weeks for our appointment. For work reasons, it is better if we get over to the UK as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Your official application date is when you are going for biometrics after which you will have 14 days to send everything off to the consulate. So I think you should be fine.
I tell it like it is.

That is sort of what I was thinking too. Im wondering who I'm supposed to call thought - the UK phone number, the local centre etc. I've tried emailing the question on one of those feedback forms but get a general response with information I am already aware of but which doesn't relate to my question.

Thanks,

J

Ok then calling the english embassy in canada would probably put your mind at ease. However, you should really have no problem with what you said you wanted to do. I've known many people that did the same and they got their approval.

Best of luck :)
