When a divorce of British citizen can apply for British citizenship?

Dear Sirs

My friend came in the UK as a spouse of British citizen but he has been divorced from his wife. He stayed 10 years legally as he has British son. he was granted ILR on 13 August 2019 on the basis of 10 years long residency. when he can apply for citizenship? alike on the same of ILR as a spouse of a British citizen? or he has to wait one year?

If he is NOT currently married to a British citizen, he has to wait 12 months.
