When is my partner "official" for Canadian standar

Post by marcb » Fri May 20, 2005 7:17 pm

Hi there :D

My first time on these forums and also a chance to pop a question I've been having for a while now.

Me and my partner are considering applying for permanent residency in Canada based upon a skilled worker class application. Now it's not clear to me when exactly my partner is considered my "official" partner for the application process.
We are living in Italy, not married and have a child together (we are officially her parents by law). Due to legislative limitations (my partner is going through a divorce procedure that still has 3 years to go) we cannot officially register as partners, yet.

Is there a way in which the canadian authorities would recognise our "partnership"?

Any insights are highly appreciated. :)
