When you are missing people back home…

I thought I would post my experiences to help anyone who might be in a similar situation. I came to Sydney from Belgium just over a year ago. Things are going really well and I love my new life here.

I did have some problems after I had been here for about four months or so. I really started missing friends and family back home in Belgium. They were so far away and it really bothered me. Making calls made it better but I was always worried about the cost.

I was telling a friend at work one day and he mentioned a website selling cheap phone cards. I hadn’t even thought about buying a phone card and when I looked on the website later that day I was surprised how much cheaper it worked out to make calls using a phone card. I bought a phone card that evening and was able to use it within minutes since they e-mailed me instructions and a pin number.

It made me feel a lot better to be able to talk friends and family without worrying about the cost. I was able to get on with my new life but at the same time keep in touch with my friends and family back in Belgium.
