Which Application Form to Use For Changing Job? URGENT

Hello All,

I need your opinion/suggestion with my present situation and how should I proceed?

I recently applied for Tier 2 (General) through my current sponsor and received my visa for 2 months back. I want to find out

Q) I have received offer of new position at a different company, higher pay and even they are willing to sponsor me. Could you please confirm how should I proceed?

Q) Do I need to change my visa? If so, which application form have to be used?

Q) If Tier 2 (General) have to be used again - could you please confirm how can I provide proof that I have been working for 6 months or longer? Or Should I wait for 6 months before applying for visa change and notifying UKBA?

A change of employer application counts as a new application. Firstly you need to ensure that the new employer is able to get you a certificate of sponsorship (COS) either because the job is on the shortage occupation list or the employer has conducted a resident market labour test (RMLT). You must ensure the COS contains all the correct details such as the appropriate salary and the correct job description etc
After you can proceed to apply using the usual tier 2 general application form
look at the guidance from UKBA PAGE 39 for change of employment

With regards to working for 6 months for your employer this only applies if you are on a Post study work visa and your are switching into tier 2 to do the same job for the same employer
You CANNOT start working for your new employer on your old visa. Your new application must be approved and you must be sent a new biometric residence permit before you can work for the new employer
