WHO IS THE PROFESSIONAL BODY?

Hi,

HSMP Guide mention that;

"vocational & professional qualifications can also score point in this area if satisfactory independent evidence is produced to show that the qualification is equivalent to an applicable level UK academic qualification. This will be verified, where possible, by reference to the NARIC database or the revelant professional body.

But the question is Who is the "Professional Body"? and what evidence do they need... Is it referance letter from the past epmloyer acceptable or do they need some certificate from the professional courses?
