Will Earned Citizenship impact the EEA Family Members

Post by bobobo » Wed Feb 03, 2010 5:34 pm

Hi,
I was just wondering if the Earned Citizenship procerdure will impact the Family Members of EEA nationals wjho have retained the rights of residence. I would have completed my 5 years on an RC in December 2011. Would this mean that I will not be granted PR using the current procedure in place as the Earned Citizenship procedure kicks in from July 2011.
Will these new laws effect me and people like myself when its time to make the PR application using the EEA4 form. If this happens getting a PR would take longer, is this true.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated on this.

Thank You
Bobby

Nothing in the EU Directive is changing, so when you get your PR status will not be altered by a change in UK law.

However moving from PR status to Naturalisation, that will certainly be affected by the change of UK legislation.
