Will I get an extension on TIER 2?

Post by kumar114 » Fri Feb 12, 2016 2:16 pm

Hi,
So this is how it begins…

Initial COS
Tier 2 (General - Switching Immigration Category)
Date assigned:11 May 2013
Expiry date (use by):12 August 2013

Job title: Web Developer/IT Analyst
Job type: 2137 Web design and development professionals

I started job in June 2013 and worked till October 2013 under TIER 2(was in PSW before). But soon I have to leave from there because they didn't have enough work for me.

However they sent me to another company. So I was working there as an intern.

Then after few months, I got a letter from home office dated 17 march 2014.

This is what it says.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were granted to leave to enter as a Tier 2 migrant until 15 June 2015 in order to undertake employment at ABC company. However, the Home Office was informed by ABC company on 02 December 2013 that you ceased to be employed by them.

Home Office records have been checked and there is no evidence that you have made an application to change your sponsor or make a fresh application for entry clearance, leave to enter or leave to remain in UK in any capacity.

Therefore, as you have ceased employment as notified by your Tier 2 Sponsor your leave is curtailed under paragraph 323A(a)(i)(2) of the Immigration rules until 16 may 2014.

Before your current leave to enter expires you must either leave the UK or submit a fresh application for leave to remain.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then my company quickly got a licence and I applied for VISA but sadly it got refused because they didn't do RLMT.
COS
Tier and Category: Tier 2 (General - Changes of Employment)
Date assigned: 08 May 2014
Expiry date (use by): 09 August 2014

Start date: 12 May 2014
End date: 11 May 2017
Total weekly hours of work: 40.00
Job title: Programmer & Software Developer
Job type: 2136 Programmers and software development professionals

Then my company did RLMT. I again applied and got the VISA until July 2017

Tier and category
Tier 2 (General - Changes of Employment)
Current CoS status date: 07 July 2014
Date assigned: 07 July 2014
Expiry date (use by): 08 October 2014

Start date: 08 July 2014
End date: 30 June 2017
Total weekly hours of work: 40.0

Job title: Web Developer/IT Analyst
Job type: 2137 Web design and development professionals

So my question is
1. Can I apply for VISA extension?
2. How many years will I get?

I am asking this because there were some gaps in between. Just wanted to make sure that it will not affect my VISA extension.
Please notice that the job type code is same when I initially applied.
Also is there anything that I need to be aware of while extending? I still have enough time though...

Kind regards
Kumar

Looks like I have made a long post...
So I am making it short..

I started job in June 2013 and worked till October 2013 under TIER 2(initial application). But I left from there.
However they sent me to another company. So I worked there as an intern.
Then after few months, I got a letter from home office dated 17 march 2014. You can see up what the letter says.

Then my company quickly got a licence and I applied for VISA but sadly it got refused because they didn't do RLMT. Again, my company did RLMT. I again applied and got the VISA until July 2017.

So my question is
1. Can I apply for VISA extension?
2. How many years will I get now?

Kind Regards
Kumar

Thank you very much @iworker.
So it makes me 6 years in June 2019 on Tier 2 right? And I can apply for ILR in June 2018. is it correct?

Kind regards

subject to satisfying the pay requirements for settlement and SOC code at the time (whichever is higher) and other settlement conditions at the time. No one can guess what conditions will be at the time.

@iworker, thanks again and yes I am aware of that. I just wanted to know if its in 2018, that I have to apply for ILR considering nothing changes that time?

Kind regards
