Will I still be showing £800 for maintanance.

Hi,

I have got PSW and in the UK for more than 2 years now. I have been maintaning £533 for each dependant for 3 months. However, people have started saying me that I must keep £800 for myself as well on top of my dependants.

Is that true that I would be needing (£533 * 3) +£800?

Please clarify.

This has always been the requirement and clearly mentioned in the poilcy guidance.

800 for self + 533 for every dependent.

Well, look at it this way.

HO needs to be sure that not only you can support yourself but also your dependents. One way of doing so is by looking at your maintenance funds.

Now, you can prove clearly that you can support your dependents but you are unable to show that you can support "yourself".

For HO, this is straight forward decision i.e rejection.

800 pounds plus whatever the amount for dependent, must be shown at the time of application.

Yes you need 800 yourself as well. I have applied for my wife and 2 kids so I have shown 1600*3 + 800 = 5600. I am on Tier 1 in UK for less than 12 months. This is exactly the same example mentioned in PBS official guide. In your case you are showing 533*3 because you are in UK for more than 12 months.

I think what he is saying is he already has his PSW so is he required to maintain the amounts required at application post-application (i.e. must he hold 533*3 and the 800 for 3 months AFTER being granted the visa?)
